Is your money going down the drain?

Mean not Green is a website that tries to save you money with domestic tips and ideas.

Some things are easy, some are difficult.

Some ideas are cheap, some are expensive.

Some save lots of money, some save a little.

Some are green, some are not. 

Why aren't we green? Well we generally are, but the ethos is about saving money not necessarily being green.... its just that a great deal of the time saving money is green for instance saving on your energy bills means using less energy which is very green.

We think the green movement has missed a trick by concentrating on "Saving the Planet" which is a laudable thing to do.... but people have become bored of the statistics about global warming, climate change, CO2 etc. People never get bored about money or saving money in these days of economic gloom. If they had concentrated on saving money with a byproduct of being green people would be more interested.

The "Mean not Green" name came from when we put solar PV panels on our roof. A friend said "You must be very green." We answered, "Mean, not green! We are putting those up to save money in the long term."

We do not mention much about financial tips such as home insurance, utilities, mortgages, loans etc as the price comparison websites will do a better job of this. We do have money saving tips and ideas in the following areas: shopping, food, insulation, heating, solar energy and keeping up with the Joneses!
